The Celestial Path

Program

The Iter Aquileiense, created by a group of enthusiasts in the summer of 2006 with the blessing of our bishops, is made up of three routes originating in three locations that are particularly significant for the history and faith tradition of our lands, one in Italy (Aquileia), one in Slovenia (Brezje, near Kranj), and one in Austria (Maria Saal, above Klagenfurt; three routes that take pilgrims, on foot, from their places of origin to Camporosso, to then climb together to the more than 1760 metres of Mount Lussari.
The three proposed stages are:

PRATO DI RESIA - DOGNA
Starting point: Pieve di Santa Maria 
Arrival point: Dogna
Height difference in ascent: 430 metres
Length: 13.4 km

DOGNA-VALBRUNA
Starting point: Dogna
Point of arrival: Valbruna
Uphill difference in altitude: 1085 mt
Length: 27.1 km

VALBRUNA - MOUNT LUSSARI
Starting point: Valbruna
Arrival point: Mount Lussari Sanctuary
Uphill difference in height: 990 mt
Length: 11.4 km
