MTB Carnic border marathon short distance B
The route leads from the ÖAV centre in the mountaineering village of Mauthen along the Gail river to Stranig (621 m). The ascent to the Straniger Alm begins here. The highest point is reached at the Unterbuchach junction (968 m). The descent to Goderschach begins, where you turn left after reaching the main road and continue towards Griminitzen. From there, continue along the main road to Nölbling and on to Weidenburg.
Turn left at the junction towards Kronhof and continue uphill towards Kronhof until the junction towards Bischof Alm. At the turn-off towards Krieghof, continue downhill past the turn-off towards Dolling to the Krieghof farmstead and down into the valley to Mahlbach.
Past the sawmill to the centre of Würmlach, then to the church and on to Weildegg Castle. Along the Wiener Weg to the Valentinbach path and take a sharp left to the Sausteg bridge, cross it and continue straight on to the finish.
