Routebeschrijving
From the Turrach it goes down to Predlitz in Styria, there turn onto the B 95 to Ramingstein (landmark castle Finstergrün) and further into the Salzburg district town Tamsweg (known by the Samson Giant). About Seetal it goes on the B 96 to Tratten, there turn left to Sölkpass. This scenic route leads through the nature park Sölktäler first about 14 km on the 1,788 m high Sölkpass and then another 25 km down to Stein an der Enns. Towards the direction of the river Enns, we head towards Schladming (annual Ski World Cup night slalom), but at Ennsling you should already take the less traveled turnoff towards Ramsau am Dachstein. On this high plateau you drive along the southern walls of the Dachstein massif and reach over Filzmoos Eben im Pongau and subsequently the worth seeing Radstadt. There you turn onto the Katschberg main road B 99 and reach the Tauern Pass, which is 1,738 m high. Directly at the pass is the famous winter sports resort Obertauern. The route leads down to Mauterndorf (Mauterndorf Castle), and to St. Michael begins the journey to the Katschberghöhe, also a popular winter sports area. Down it goes to Rennweg and further along the Lieser to the very worth seeing, medieval artist town Gmünd (castle Gmünd, Porsche car museum). At Seeboden you get to the northern shore of Lake Millstatt (the second largest and 141 m deepest lake in Carinthia), past the seaside resorts Millstatt (Millstatt) and Döbriach you reach the city Radenthein (Granatium), where until 1965 the mining of magnesite in Tagbau took place. From there it goes up to the famous spa and ski World Cup place Bad Kleinkirchheim (Thermal Römerbad and Therme Kathrein) and continue on the Turracher highway to Turracher Höhe. With a maximum of 23% slope, it is the steepest mountain road in the Alps.
