Routebeschrijving

We drive from Reisach via the Reißkofelbad to the Jochalm, approx. 45 min. From there we walk to the hunting lodge and past it in many serpentines through loose alpine forest up the steep slope to the so-called Alpelspitz at 1960 m above sea level. A striking rocky head and marvellous views invite you to take a break. We then either ascend very steeply over the Hochfleck directly to the ridge (rope protection available) or head NE to the Kleiner Reißkofel and via path 229 towards the summit. This path is usually chosen as a descent, but it is also very gravelly and rocky.

After about 2 ½ hours, we have reached the summit, which offers an extensive panoramic view due to its central location. Descent via path 229 and 235.

The ascent to the Reißkofel can also be made from the Comptonhütte or the Weißbriacher Hütte.
