Geolog. Hike in the area of the Rattendorfer Alm

Easy hike through an alpine pasture area with great views of the surrounding mountains. You have to keep your eyes open to recognise the relics of the earth's history. On the descent to the Lanzenalm at the pass of the same name, you cross the national border.
Directions
Take the B111 to Jenig, in the village turn left to Rattendorf, then follow the signs to Rattendorfer Alm. Approx. 10 km.

Directions

From the Rattendorfer Alm, head west on path 417 towards Cima di Lanza. Keep left at a junction and continue right on path 417 to the Hochwipfel, and after a short time you will come to path 403.

Continue without a path past various geological sites until you reach path 548 to the Lanzenalm just before the Rattendorfer Sattel. A short stretch of path and you come to the Attila Cave on the right. It is possible to walk a short distance with a torch. The path then continues down to the Lanzenalm without any difficulty.

The way back leads along the same path to the Rattendorfer Sattel, where the path continues straight ahead and after a short time meets path 417 to the Rattendorfer Alm.
