Memorial hike across the Carnic Alps to the Italian Promoser Alm and to Timau, 21 July 2024

For a long time, the allegation persisted that Ital. Partisans had committed atrocities on neighbouring Gailtal mountain pastures. Today we know that these were deliberately spread rumours to explain the Nazi-fascist massacres of mountain pasture personnel, which have persisted to this day. We want to commemorate the innocent victims with a cross-border memorial hike.

Never again!

The trail leads via the Bischofalm, a section of the Carnic High Mountain Trail and the Kronhofer Törl to the Promoser Alm - Malga di Pramosio (Italy). We commemorate the innocent victims at the alpine chapel. After a refreshment stop at the mountain hut, we descend to Timau, from where the AV bus or a taxi will take us back to the starting point. Ascent 1100 metres, descent 1000 metres. Meeting point Weidenburg fire station at 05:00. Coordination: Hannes Guggenberger, +43 660 3503271, telephone registration and valid travel document required!
