To the Oisternig 2031 m from the Uggovizzer Tal via Achomitzer Alm, Feistritzer Alm

A medium-difficulty day hike to two mountain pastures and a beautiful chapel, then on to the Oisternig. This additional effort is rewarded with a fantastic view. The descent leads first over alpine pastures, then through forest to the Lomsattel.

Equipment
Normal hiking equipment, sturdy shoes are recommended.
Directions
From Tarvisio on the main road through the Canal Valley to the second entrance to Ugovizza. Cycle through the village and round several bends on a narrow road until you reach a junction to the left. Pass this and the next junction to the right shortly afterwards and continue into the valley until the next junction to the left, keeping right until you reach the no-driving signs at a timber yard. Park here in a suitable place.

Directions

From the car park in the Uggovizzer Tal valley, first take the gravel path on the right to the edge of the forest. Here the trail begins on the right, initially quite steep, later moderately steep all the way through the forest, the last section to Sella Pleccia over alpine meadows. Continue straight ahead across alpine meadows, after approx. 15 minutes you reach the Achomitzer Alm.

Return along the same path to Sella Pleccia, then ascend across alpine meadows to the Maria Schnee chapel.

From the chapel, follow a gravel path to the Feistritzer Alm, which is already visible. Between the huts, the trail climbs in a north-easterly direction over alpine pastures until it turns sharply to the west and after a short time climbs steeply up through mountain pines and alpine roses. After a somewhat flatter section, the trail then climbs steeply once again to the summit cross, which is not at the highest point. Climb a few more metres over the plateau-like terrain to the highest point.

From the highest point, first descend in a southerly direction without a path, past the former barracks from the First World War, until you reach the former military path. Follow this path past the turn-off to the Feistritzer Alm and continue through the forest on a moderately steep descent to the Lomsattel. Here you turn left onto a gravel path and after a short time you reach the Rif. Nordio-Deffar.

From here, follow the gravel path to the car park.
