Poludnig (1999 m)
At 1,999 metres, the Poludnig just scrapes the 2,000 metre mark and is a popular hiking destination due to its easy accessibility. The hike takes us through three alpine villages, past the Egger Almsee lake and the cows, horses, sheep and goats that are herded here in summer. Gailtal alpine cheese is still made on the Egger Alm and the alpine inns serve local specialities such as bacon sandwiches, Kaiser-Schmarren (pancakes) and roast pork.
